Proposed Changes to South Australia Surrogacy Laws /Legislation Recognizes Mother’s Health

Positive changes have been proposed for South Australia’s Family Relationship bill.  Currently the law only permits  surrogacy when the mother is infertile or the child is at risk.  The new proposed legislation recognizes serious health risk for women who could become pregnant, but whose own health would be jeopardized.  The bill is headed to the upper house for final approval in May, and, if approved, will make South Australia surrogacy laws similar to Western Australia, NSW, Queensland, and Victoria.
