Double the Fun!

Awesome news—saw the first ultrasound and we are expecting twins!! We were lucky enough to be present for the first ultrasound and it was nice being able to meet our surrogate in person. Originally, I had thought I would want a really close relationship with our surrogate, and maybe even to keep in touch after the journey was over. We had friends who developed that kind of relationship with their surrogate, and it certainly appealed to me. But, I could tell from the moment we met her that would not be the case. Don’t get me wrong, she was very nice and polite, but also very business-like. My partner and I quickly realized that it was best for us to come down for important appointments and support her by making sure she was comfortable with every step of the process. I became okay with this set-up very quickly, and saw the advantages to that kind of relationship…especially with her living so far away.
