Reproductive Laws in Czech Republic

PGD and sex selection are permitted in order to avoid serious hereditary diseases. Treatment only permitted for heterosexual couples (although marriage is not required). Freezing of embryos is permitted.

Egg/Sperm Donation

Sperm and egg donations are permitted but must be anonymous. The age limit for female recipient is 49 years old. Embryo donation permitted. Only uncompensated donations (excluding the cost incurred by the donor to donate) are permissible.


There are no laws or policy on surrogacy therefore it is not a recommended to pursue surrogacy in this country.
