My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant and found out we need to do travel for IVF but it looks like it’s going to cost us a lot of money. We’ve heard about going out of the country. Is it worth it or is there someplace in the US we can go?

First off, I’m sorry that you’ve been struggling, but for most people travel for IVF is the solution for them. Of course, it is an expensive endeavor, but there are places you can go to save money. In the past many people have traveled internationally, but this involved quite a bit of work and often up to two weeks of missed work. But in the last few years some American clinics have become competitively priced – plus the length of time traveling is much less…plus it is easier to coordinate and communicate (no language barrier). One clinic that is currently offering a very competitive price is Huntington Reproductive Fertility’s Rancho Cucomonga. Located about 40 minutes outside of LA, it uses it’s parent office in Pasadena for retrievals and transfers, but does all monitoring and communication from the RC office. Right now and into 2014 they are offering IVFs for $4800.
