Let’s start with breakfast. Do you drink coffee every morning? Start paying attention to how much caffeine you are consuming on a daily basis. Dr Ulrik Kesmodel, of Aarhus University Hospital, compared the negative affects of drinking too much coffee during IVF treatment to smoking during fertility treatment. However, negative affects were only found on women who drank five or more cups of coffee per day. So you should be able to enjoy a hot cup of joe…in moderation. And, although the research is not conclusive, it is believe that caffeine is the culprit, therefore tea drinkers should beware of their intake as well!
Moving on to lunch and dinner…avoid the saturated fat and embrace monounsaturated fat, that may lower inflammation in the body. A Mediterranean diet is highly recommended for fertility health. Embrace olive oil, fish, nuts and avocados, and ditch dinners with lots of red meat and butter.
