I got great news today from Petra, the coordinator at Reprogensis. My egg donor is doing very well, she has 13 good-sized eggs. I did not know I would receive this kind of update until egg retrieval day, as it was done in Zlin. It’s nice to know early that things are going well!! By American standards this may not seem like a bumper-crop of eggs, but in CZ they are extremely careful to not overstim their donors, and they believe lower quantities leads to better quality, so it’s just different. Often there are very few, if any, left-over embryos to freeze, but for the cost it’s worth going back for another fresh cycle if needed.
I am thinking of the donor, I wish at times the anonymity was not so strict, I would love to give her a gift, or send her a note at least, to thank her…..
The other bit of news – egg retrieval is moved up a day, meaning my transfer date is earlier too. Not a problem, I just need to add a night to my hotel reservation in Brno. I also booked bus tickets today, and received them online, so all travel details are now in place.
I was planning to travel alone, but my mom was not comfortable with that, so she offered to accompany me. Plus she has always wanted to see Prague, great excuse! She will arrive a couple of days ahead of me, to give herself more time to tour the city. Bon Voyage Mom! I included a few pictures from my previous trip…. looking at them makes me even more excited to be going back!
