Surrogacy Laws in Ireland May Leave Children in Limbo

Surrogacy laws in Ireland continue to leave children in legal limbo.  Susan and Anthony Cooper had a son with the help of a surrogate in India- but their family was forced apart during their first weeks together, as Anthony had to return to Ireland to try and obtain court orders to get a passport for their child.  Many Irish intended parents feel frustrated, as the current laws on surrogacy are unclear and often make the legal process of becoming parents long and difficult.
