Doctors are researching a new method for delivering progesterone during in vitro fertilization (IVF). Currently in clinical trials, the vaginal progesterone ring is a flexible silicone ring, inserted only once a week, that seems to successfully deliver progesterone. Researchers are currently comparing the vaginal ring, vaginal gel, and intramuscular injections. Depending on the final results of the trials, the vaginal progesterone ring may become the new standard, as it’s a convenient option that avoids needles.
What do you think? Is the vaginal progesterone ring the future of IVF treatments?
